Housing As well as being a specialist further education college, we also have 21 purpose-built flats available on our site, to enable students to begin their journey of living independently. Tenants can stay at the centre throughout the college holidays and weekends and individuals are encouraged to take on the responsibilities that come with having a flat. There are ground floor flats which are all wheelchair accessible with wide doors and level access, wetrooms, and the majority have hoists. We also have some upstairs flats accessible via a lift. We supply basic furniture such as beds, desks and wardrobes and the kitchens have ovens, fridges, and washing machines. Before moving in, we will provide a list of things you will need to purchase including cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, duvet, pillows etc. You are welcome to personalise your flat by putting pictures on the wall and bringing in your own belongings. We will assess every potential new tenant’s needs to make sure that the flats are suitable for them and adaptations may be made if an individual’s independence needs change. There is an on site care team available for all supported living tenants. Demand for the flats is always high and we may not be able to offer accommodation to all those who apply.
